It’s always fun to experiment with recipes. The other day we were looking at different cocktail recipes and came across a recipe for a green tea margarita. While the recipe we found looked good, we thought there was room for a tiny bit of improvement, so we put our own spin on it to create a Talbott Teas Green Tea Margarita.
Brew 2/3 a cup of Talbott Teas Citrus Appeal* (brew strong)
Refrigerate until the tea is very cold
2 lime or lemon wedges
Small dish of granulated sugar for coating rim of glass
2 1/2 tablespoons (1 1/4 ounces) premium tequila
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon Cointreau
2 teaspoons sugar
Rub a lime or lemon wedge around the rim of an old-fashioned glass. Dip and rotate the rim in the small dish of sugar, making sure to keep the sugar on the outside.
In a blender, combine the iced tea , tequila, lemon juice, Cointreau, and sugar. Serve over ice in your sugared old fashioned glass. Add a lime or lemon wedge to the edge of the glass.
For those of you who prefer a frozen margarita, freeze the strongly brewed Talbott Teas Citrus Appeal tea in ice cube trays. Once frozen, add tea ice cubes in the blender with the other ingredients. Blend until you have a slushy consistency. pour into your sugared old fashioned glass. Add a lime or lemon wedge to the edge of the glass.
